Arnaud completed the 16th MDS LEGENDARY in 2001, a challenge he took up on a whim when he was not at all a runner. The experience had a profound effect on him, and when he left the desert he promised himself that he would return with his child the day he had one.
Twenty-three years later, that promise has been fulfilled with Ines, his daughter, who is only 16 years old, and who, unlike her father, has running in her blood: she took part in her first 20 km at the age of 13! "This will probably be the most rewarding experience of my short life", she says with impressive maturity.
The inhabitants of Brussels were not in the same pace: at the end of the long stage, it was Ines who led the way, 274th overall, ahead of her father in 481st place.
It's worth noting that, at 16, Ines is the second youngest participant in this 38th edition, just ahead of Lionel SCHNEIDER (D76-CHE), who is three days younger than her!
